Introduction to Contracts History

With the “Contracts History” feature companies can select different date ranges for various contracts.

Contracts History can be of use in the following or similar situations:

  • an employee switches from contract “Salary” to contract “Hourly”
  • an employee has new standard hours
  • an employee has different weekly working days

Now you will be able to see the transition of contracts in reports and which contract is assigned to which user.

Workflow for the contracts history feature

1. Assign a new contract to a user for a specific date range

Go to “Users” -> click on the employee/user you want to assign a new contract to -> scroll down to “Contract Information” -> click on the “+” to assign user to a different contract (start date can only be in the past or “today”)

The new contract will come into force on the date that is chosen.

Users can only be assigned to one contract at a time and there will be no period in time, where a user has no contract associated with them.

When adding a new contract to the contracts history, it is important to be aware of the following conditions:

  • The contract can’t have a start date in the future.
  • You can switch a contract for a user once per day. If you switch a user’s contracts more than one time during a day, only the latest addition will be saved.
  • A newly created user will be assigned to the main contract of your company by default (see list of contracts). The default start date of the contract in that case will be the user’s creation date.
2. How to check which contract a user currently has
The uppermost contract in the contracts history is the currently active contract:

It is also possible to see the currently active contract for the user if you go to settings -> contracts -> filter by user -> choose user
