Do you need to add hours for a task that an employee forgot to log, or correct the time spent on a specific project? The Time Entries for Tasks feature in TimeClock 365 allows managers and administrators to manually add or edit time logs for employees, ensuring that all project work is accurately tracked for billing and analysis. This guide covers the complete process, from the initial setup to the two different ways you can add and edit time.
1. Adding or Editing Time Directly in the Timesheet
For quick edits or additions on a day that already has entries, you can work directly in the timesheet grid.
- Navigate to Project & Tasks → Time Entries for Tasks
- Use the filters to load the correct employee and date range
- Find the specific day you want to edit (columns are organized by Tasks)
- To add time to a new task:
- Enter hours worked in the adjacent cell (saves automatically)
- Or select a task in the dropdown menu (you can also add a new task column by clicking blue “+” button)
2. Adding Manual Time Entries via the Task Time Management Window
This is the proper method for adding new time entries if your company uses not just tasks, but projects and customers features.
Prerequisite – Enforce the Task Reporting Flow (Admin Setup)
To ensure accurate time logging against customers, projects, and tasks, administrators should enable this one-time setting:
- Go to Settings → Company Profile
- Select the Settings tab
- Enable “Enforce Customer > Project > Task Selection flow” to require this hierarchy
- Click Update to save
