NFC (Near Field Communication) has transformed how employees access buildings. Instead of a physical card that can be lost, copied, or forgotten, employees use their smartphone - a device they always have with them and that has built-in security protocols far stronger than a basic RFID card.
How NFC Access Works
TimeClock 365 issues digital credentials to employees through Apple Wallet (iOS) or Google Wallet (Android). The employee receives an email, taps the link to add the pass to their wallet, and can immediately use their phone at any NFC-enabled reader. The entire activation process takes under two minutes.
Why It's More Secure Than Physical Cards
- Physical RFID cards can be cloned with inexpensive hardware available online. NFC wallet passes use cryptographic authentication that cannot be cloned.
- Lost cards require physical collection or deactivation. Lost phones can be revoked from the admin panel in seconds.
- Wallet passes are tied to the device's biometric lock (Face ID / fingerprint) - the card can only be used by the enrolled person.
Management Without On-Premise Hardware
NFC credentials are managed entirely from the TimeClock 365 cloud admin panel. Administrators issue, update, or revoke credentials remotely. When an employee leaves, one click revokes all their digital access - immediately, across all doors and locations.
