Time Clock Punches Not Being Recorded

This guide explains what to do when clock punches from a time clock terminal aren't being recorded, usually because the terminal has lost its connection to the server.

To check whether the terminal is synced, see the related guide on that topic.

If you notice the terminal has disconnected from the server, or you received an email alert about it, here are our recommendations:

  1. If the terminal usually connects over WiFi, check whether the WiFi icon is green or has a red X. If it has a red X, check that the internet and password are working and reconnect. You can also connect directly with a network cable. Check that the WiFi itself is functioning - it's possible the WiFi network is open but not actually connected to the internet.
  2. If your usual connection is a network cable, check the icon showing the two computers. If it has a red X, this indicates a problem with the network cable or the internet - it's possible your internet isn't working.
  3. If both computer icons are blue but the server icon has an X, go to the menu -> Communication -> Network, turn the DHCP switch off and then back on, so the IP addresses refresh.

Press ESC to exit all menus. The connection to the server should be restored within about a minute.
