This guide explains how to report Jira tasks directly into TimeClock 365 using the Chrome extension.
1. Install the TimeClock 365 Chrome extension
- Go to the TimeClock 365 extension page in the Chrome Web Store.
- Click "Add to Chrome" to install the extension.
- You can pin the extension to the toolbar so it is always available.
2. Log in to the extension
- Click the TimeClock 365 extension icon (usually shaped like a clock) in the Chrome toolbar.
- Use your TimeClock 365 login details (the same username and password you use in the app and portal).
3. Open a Jira task and start tracking time
- Go to the Jira task you want to work on.
- A "Start task" button will appear, added by the TimeClock 365 extension.
- Click "Start task".
- The timer starts running, and the current task is recorded in the extension.
- You can confirm this by clicking the extension icon in the Chrome toolbar - you will see the timer running there.
4. Stop tracking
When you finish working on the task, click "Stop task" again. The time is saved and the task is marked as stopped.
Admin: daily task summary alert (optional)
- Log in to the web app as an administrator and go to Alerts, then click "Create new alert".
- Under Watchers, select the users who will receive the alert, and select the users to watch.
- In the Attendance section, select at least one checkbox.
- Scroll down to "Daily Task Summary" and check "Trigger tasks summary notification for".
- Choose "Previous Day" or "Current Day", and set the hour and minute to send it.
- Click Save.
